The second in Black Lace’s paranormal trilogy, The Silver Crown follows on from The Silver Collar, where hot young werewolf hunter Iris battled monthly against the full moon and the half-human hounds that haunt the city of Oxford at night. She may still be one kick-ass hunter trained for combat and capable of killing the beasts en masse, but nothing is ever simple in paranormal land. Iris is in love with an alpha wolf, and being a professional werewolf hunter whilst maintaining a relationship with one of the beasts she is supposed to eradicate proves to be rather a conflict of interests. But against her better judgment, Iris can’t tear herself away from her lover Alfie’s arms, the man who was ‘turned’ the night she witnessed her twin brother’s death at the hands of an enormous ancient werewolf 11 years previously.
As if that’s not enough to worry about, the local group of powerful witches claim she is the chosen one, destined to save humanity from the ancient werewolf cult who secretly control the city, plus her new boss, Blake, who also happens to be her jilted ex-husband, seems hell bent on making life difficult for her. Meanwhile Alfie’s wolf pack are searching for their lost sire, but it’s not clear if they want to overthrow him or return him to his rightful place as leader.
But all Iris wants is to be left alone with her alpha wolf so they can practice seriously steamy sex rituals with each other. So in the race to the next full moon, can Iris keep Blake at bay, eliminate every last one of the ancient beasts controlling the twilight hours and still keep her man? You’ll have to read The Silver Crown to find out and I can guarantee, after five minutes of steamy doggy-style sex and fast-paced werewolf-killing action, you will be as enthralled as a dog on heat and incapable of putting it down.
